It seems as soon as the temperature starts to drop, my skin warns me that winter is on the way. My lips start to grow scales and my hands start to look like I have been playing with flour. I quickly take the cue and switch up my skincare routine.
Here are 5 ways to have healthy skin this winter:
Exfoliate – It is so important to get rid of the dead cells that form on the top layer of our skin. I use a shower brush to gently reveal fresher, softer skin.
Moisturize – Staying moisturized is key to healthy skin. Shea butter, Coconut oil and coco butter are all great affordable and chemical free choices. I also use jojoba oil on my face to keep it from looking weathered. Don’t worry acne sufferers, jojoba oil does not cause breakouts.
Soap – I typically suds up with castile soap in the shower. But, in the winter, I use a soap with a bit more moisture since castile soap can be a little drying.
Humidifier – Well, they are good for multiple reasons. I use this one to add moisture to the air which to keep my nose, throat and skin from drying out.
Water – Stay hydrated! Drink more water! Cut back on the caffeine because it makes you pee more. Did I say drink more water?!? Yeah, do that.
Avoid cracked and painful skin this winter by giving these 5 solutions a try.
Your skin will thank you for it!
