Life has changed for me now that I am a Mom. My tv and movie habits have taken a sharp turn towards the world of “G” rated, kid friendly and totally hilarious! Who knew my husband and I would actually enjoy kid’s movies more than some adult movies??
One thing you can’t overlook is, there is some sort of lesson we can all learn from these animated delights. Case in point – the movie “Sing”. Although there are quite a few life lessons, Rosita, the hard working at home Mom really stuck out to me. Did you see the movie? Can you relate? Ok, here is a bit of a spoiler. Rosita is a wife and mom to a houseful of piglets (stay with me now). Taking care of her family is her main priority. Meanwhile, her endless list of “duties” seem to leave no room for her gifted voice. Are you with me? Is that you?
Ok, so maybe your singing voice sounds more like a croaking frog. I am sure there is some sort of talent hidden inside of all of us. What’s yours?
Are you:
An Artist
Really good at graphic design
A Chef
Great with whipping up homemade skincare products
A fashion designer/stylist
Or are you a really great Mom that can teach new moms how to swaddle, nurse or handle tantrums?!? Your gift matters! Don’t sit on it anymore!
So maybe it won’t make you a millionaire (or maybe it will). Maybe it won’t land you on a huge billboard (although that’s surely possible)
The simple fact of knowing that you are doing something you love can be totally fulfilling.
Here are my tips on how to be a breakout star like “Rosita”:
- Sit quietly and think about what it is you really like to do
- Figure out if you need additional training to sharpen your skill
- Encourage yourself by only saying positive things about your gift
- Connect with like minded people
- Take baby steps towards making your talent a reality and DON’T STOP!
I am here to tell you that
YOU CAN DO IT!
